OUR DIGITAL ASSUMPTIONS
How Digital Delivery Is Enhancing Our World

In reality, THEOOZE is creating an online community that has never existed before. Therefore, we know that there are certain assumptions that we make which radically affect the way we will conduct our efforts. These assumptions center on distinct shifts that are occurring in the broader marketplace because of advancing technologies that primarily affect creators of products/resources and their targeted audiences.

CREATOR-FOCUSED SHIFTS:

? From the Publishing business to the Author business
? From the Music business to the Musician business
? From the Collector/Museum business to the Artist business
? From the Education business to the Faciliator business
? From the Denominational business to the Practitioner business

Until recently, most businesses inadvertently focused on developing a bureaucracy surrounding a certain genre - whether it be entertainment, the arts, education, and even religion. However, in the last forty years, the power structures have begun to shift, and they are beginning to shift exponentially with the permeation of the Internet into all facets of life, business, and even ministry.

Therefore, THEOOZE assumes that it is more about the creators of the resources and content it provides rather than a traditional business structure that would make it the distributor/disseminator of information and experiences. As THEOOZE cultivates the passions and talents among new authors, musicians, artists, faciliators, and practitioners, THEOOZE will create a wealth of information and experiences that are comparable to none.

EMERGING MARKET SHIFTS:
From Paper and Plastic to Digital Everything

Although paper and plastic may always be around, the emerging world of products primarily centers on the digital. Digital products, resources, and experiences are integrating more and more into everyday life, play, and work.

From Control and Copyrights to Open Distribution
For years, large corporations have done everything within their power to control the creative process, the flow of distribution, and the way in which products are marketed and sold. With the introduction of the web, this control is in the process of being overcome by what is simply called open distribution. Armed with an understanding of the product and/or resource, almost everyone can have access to everything at a competitive price and in the timeframe that they want it.

From a Scarcity Mentality to an Abundance Mentality
The reason behind organization or corporate control tends to center upon a scarcity mentality. There is a basic assumption that there will not be enough to go around, so let's hoard it all right now. In the new marketplace, THEOOZE is finding that there is an abundance mentality with information, experiences, resources, and products in great abundance. This shift toward abundance allows for greater creativity and a shift toward the creator and consumer rather than the corporation itself.

From Top Down Advertising to Horizontal Marketing
Although top-down advertising campaigns are at an all time high, horizontal marketing is being recognized as the "stickier" source of strength in the marketplace. THEOOZE believes that people are simply the world's best marketers. If someone likes a product or service, they will predominately tell multiple people. If THEOOZE listens to its users and creates products that they like, THEOOZE assumes that satisfied user/customers will propel its products into the marketplace through the communicative convenience of the Internet.

From Overhead Consumption to Creator and Consumer Benefit
If the 80's were one of the most lucrative decades of recent times, where did all that money go? A lot of it went into corporate overhead and distribution costs ? operating costs that THEOOZE knows can be greatly reduced. THEOOZE believes that the creators of products (i.e., books, music, videos, art, etc.) will be able to receive a greater return for their talent, and that the consumer will receive more value for their money by digitally connecting producer and consumer. Therefore, THEOOZE?s focus is digitally, downloadable resources that allow for substantially reduced overhead and distribution costs. No paper, plastic, delivery people, or middlemen means greater margins for all.

DIGITAL ASSUMPTIONS
How Digital Resources Are Expanding Personal Opportunities

As we create an online community that centers around digital resources, we believe that there are certain core elements that we must hold to in the process. With a great deal of misunderstanding and even blatant disregard for copyright laws, we want to go out of our way to articulate our self-prescribed, digital code of honor and beliefs.

1. We choose to honor the creative source by helping them achieve their desired outcome. For some, this may mean a financial return where many others may be just looking for a great degree of exposure.

2. We choose to honor the environment. We do not see the need to continue to produce as many products that require the use of natural resources. Although paper, plastic, and fuel (for deliveries) will always be needed within our society, we believe that we can drastically reduce our impact upon God?s creation by utilizing digital technology.

3. We choose to honor the individual choice of our customers. With the shift from paper and plastic toward digital resources, users can now choose what they want to purchase and how they want to purchase it much easier. Instead of purchasing the entire CD, they can just purchase the songs that connect with their needs. Instead of waiting for a book or CD to be delivered, our users will be able to receive their product instantly via digital download. This shift will allow us to pass along a significant savings to all users.

4. We believe that self-expression and creativity will drive production above and beyond mere distribution. Although a CD or a book may not sell millions of copies through traditional distribution, we believe that there is validity in offering for creative purposes. With the vast expanse of the web, a book will never have to go out of print, and an artist will never be told ?no? because of poor sales projections.

5. We believe that the new economy will not flourish with the digital nuisances of high-powered control and user-end gymnastics. People will constantly be coming up with ways to ?get around? the system, and we believe that we have to find a way to create a community that provides a tremendous amount of value and service. In no way do we believe that users should ?pirate? products at the expense of the creator or other companies, but we do not wish to hassle our users with ?digital hoops? to jump through on a regular basis.

6. We believe that there will be multiple levels of quality based on the open gate of distribution that the Internet provides. Rather than creating a highly restrictive environment, we will choose to let users become the judges of quality on a horizontal level.

7. We believe that exclusivity is a tool to command and control a market segment and the consumer. In the end, exclusivity does not help the end-user or the creative.
