How are you being supported, cared for, and continuing your learning? ETREK Learning Groups are peer-to-peer groups that connect 10 to 18 individuals with a natural affinity, such as lead pastors.

"ETREK is something I wish I had when I was in seminary and in my church ministry experience", says Spencer Burke, Founder of ETREK Learning Groups. "After a staff meeting is over and people move on to their work and home, no one else carries the weight of the church like a lead pastor.  You will be the one always second-guessing the direction of your church, and staying awake at night holding the awesome responsibility of leading the community.  As many teams as you create, and partnerships you design, no one truly understands the responsibilities and rewards of being a lead pastor apart from other lead pastors."

"Having been a bi-vocational pastor for most of my ministry I can understand how ETREK fills a learning gap for   many leaders. The opportunity to have access to and interact with some of the leading thinkers and practitioners
in the field if evangelism is something I definitely would have jumped at when I was church planting. Even though some of these people have become friends I still get excited to have some focused time with them and those
of you who get on the ETREK bus to travel to new places in our evangelistic thought life"

Jim Henderson

The Basics of the Course
* Learning groups have 15-25 learners and a facilitator and convene for 10-12 weeks. Summer courses 5-6 weeks.
Groups meet face-to-face twice: for the first session to meet each other and develop the topics to be explored, and for the final session to celebrate and compile learnings.
Group members participate in facilitated group phone conferences with experts or authors in the agreed upon subjects.
Twice a month, peer-to-peer phone conferences are used to further explore the topics being discussed.
Once a month, one-on-one personalized learning with facilitator. Phone conversations focused on how the topic uniquely plays out in your real-life situation (three calls).
* For each subject there is a reading list developed by the group with feedback from our academic advisors.
Learners capture and share their learnings and ideas via Etrek's online web tools.
Optional Credit, Graduate credit may be obtained through Fuller Seminary.
* "Experts" have included; Leonard Sweet, Brian McLaren, Sally Morgenthaler, Mark Lesser, Todd Hunter, Bill Easum, Chris Seay, Jim Henderson, Fredericka Matthewes-Green and Joe Meyers (this is a sampling; your group will feature key thinkers / practitioners in the field your learning group is focused on).
