The Cube

We played something very similar on The Ooze many years ago. I thought it would be fun to revisit the concept of personality games. I'll post what each item is suppose to represent in a few days.

The more specific your answers are the more interesting the big reveal will be. :)

Picture an enormous white room. In this room, there is a cube.

1.) What color is the cube?

2.) What size is the cube?

3.) Where is it located in the room? Is it floating or on the ground?

Next, imagine flowers inside of this room.

4.) Where are the flowers located?

5.) How large are the flowers?

Next, imagine a ladder inside of the white room.

    6.) Where is the ladder?

7.) What size is the ladder?

Next, imagine a horse in the white room.

    8.) Where is the horse?

9.) Name three personality characteristics of the horse.

Lastly, imagine a rainstorm in the white room.

10.) Where is the rainstorm located?

11.) How large is the rainstorm?

My cube sits in the left hand corner of the room. It's 5-6 feet high, 3-4 feet wide and is a little less opaque than this door. If you press your nose to the glass you can see (some) of what is inside.

There is a vase filled with dandelions sitting on a coffee table in the right hand corner of the room. Some people call them weeds but they've always been my favourite flower. I think they're beautiful (and I love that they can survive almost anywhere!)

The ladder is wooden, very old and spattered with a rainbow of different paints. It isn't much to look at but it still works great. It's lying alongside one of the walls.

The horse stands by the door. She's at the prime of life and used to much larger pastures. She's intelligent, strong and has a serious ornery streak. (She'd never hurt anyone, though.) I don't know why she came inside - maybe she wanted a nice, crisp apple? :)

The rainstorm is coming from one of those windows some people install in ceilings - I can't remember what they're called. Anyway, the window was left open so it's actually raining outside. It's just that some of it is getting inside. It's one of those summer downpours that's short and heavy.

    Hmm, very ingriguing!

    1. The cube is ice-blue.
    2. Very large - at least 10 feet in height - filling about 3/4 of the room.
    3. It is sitting on the floor at the exact centre of the room.
    4. Flowers are planted (?) on the floor all around the base of the cube.
    5. The largest - yellow daisies - are one to two feet high. There are others, bluebells and marigolds, somewhat smaller in size.
    6. The ladder is leaning against the side of the cube.
    7. It is a little taller than the cube with one rung extending above the top of the cube.
    8. The horse, also white, is standing to the side of the cube, a little farther back than the ladder.
    9. She is older, but healthy, strong and mature. She seems to have been there a long time and is becoming impatient with her confinement in a small space, blowing, nickering and pawing the floor.
    10. The rainstorm has been going on for some time outside of the cube and has now begun to penetrate through the ceiling and upper corners of the room, running down the walls and puddling on the floor.
    11. Inside the cube it didn't seem so bad, but now i realize that it has been very violent and has been going on for a long time without my being aware of it.

Looking forward to the 'big reveal'!

Sigh. I've always had trouble doing these things. I cannot close my eyes and visualize things. I've never been able to close my eyes and think of a tree or a cube or a room or anything.

When people ask, what do I see, I feel like I'm giving a smart ass reply, but I see darkness when my eyes close. I never quite got what folks meant.

    Interesting!

Do you usually not daydream, then?

Red cube, 1 foot, on a pedestal in the middle of the room.

The cube disappears and about half a dozen roses appear in a vase on the pedestal with that leafy stuff.

A ladder appears just beyond the roses and pedestal and ascends up, out of sight.

A horse appears off to the left. The horse is calm, serene and wise. It is also looking at me. It's gaze is comforting.

The rainstorm is all throughout the room, it is a heavy rain, cold but cleansing.

No, I don't really have a concept of daydreaming. I mean, my mind wanders, but I don't have the capability to see things while my eyes are closed and my body is awake.

I do dream and every once in a while, I remember them, and when I do recall them, they are vivid...

but I couldn't picture something while awake for the life of me.

If you've just stumbled across this thread, don't read this post until you've answered the questions! :)

    the site said:

The white room represents our lives. Inside of this white room, there is a cube. This cube is a representation of our ego, or how we see ourselves. If your cube is small, it means that you have a small ego, you are humble. If your ego is large, it means that you might be “full of yourself”. A colored ego means that you hide who you really are from people. A white or clear cube means that you do not put a show on for others. If the cube is on the ground, it means that you are well grounded in your views, and “down to earth”. If the cube is floating, it means that your life is unstable and unpredictable.

The flowers in the room represent your family and friends. If there are a lot of flowers in the room, it means that you prefer to be surrounded by friends and family. If the flowers are only a few, it means that you prefer only a few close friends. If your flowers are near the cube, it means that you are close to your friends. If your flowers are further away, you prefer to keep a distance between your friends.

The ladder inside the room represents your life's goals and ambition. A small ladder means that you do not have any goals, or that your goals in life are small. If your ladder is large, it means that your goals and expectations for yourself are set higher than average. If your ladder is far away from your cube, it means that right now you are not working on your goals. If your ladder is on top of your cube, it means that your goals and ambitions are controlling you.

The horse inside of the room is your spouse. The three characteristics of the horse apply to your spouse, or what you like to see in your spouse. If your horse is close to the cube, it means that you are close to your spouse. When you see a beautiful horse it shows your beautiful experience with your spouse.

The rainstorm inside of the room is life's problems. If your thunderstorm is large, it means that your life is hectic. If the thunderstorm is near another object (for instance, the horse), it means that that object is causing problems in your life. If you see small thunderstorm that means you are currently not facing too many difficulties or at least ignoring them.

If you are new to the thread I wouldn't read beyond this point either as we will start talking about our interpretations!

So please go back and answer the questions yourself before reading on. :)

Speaking of interpretations, how do you interpret your answers?
